Simple and Straight Makeup Ideas for Men

Start With Foundation

First, you need to make sure your or your client’s face is clean and shaven. In this idea, I use Ben Nye cosmetic lotion for this. Make sure that the shadows and highlights used are evenly spaced from the base color. Start by applying the foundation with a makeup sponge all over the face and around the neck. Then, we can start by blocking the shadows and light. First, we will highlight all the salient points of the face where organic light enters. From the center, draw a line of this highlight on your face and move outward. This should only be one line at a time. Draw a line on both sides of the forehead, one at the temples and the other on the right side above the hairline. Then, make sure you start from the outside and using the brush.

Draw another line on the nose, starting from the tip of the nose, and then brush. Then draw a line through the jaw. Then, take your shadow’s color and paint the lines outside this temple height, underlining the nose and just below the jaw. Also, place a shadow at the base of each cheekbone.

Blend the Highlights and Shadows into the Foundation

Now you have to mix shadows and lights in the foundation. I find it easier with my hands. Mix the lights all along the hairline around the eyebrow and those above the eyebrow. The cheekbones will be blurred upwards, as well as the bones of the jaw. The highlights of the nose will also fade, and the shadows will be mixed on the outside. The shadows of the temples will blend with those of the eyebrows and those of the forehead.

Create Detail Highlights of the Eyes and Lips

The eyes are shaded on the inside just below the eyebrows and merge outwards. The eyelids stand out in the center. With a dark brown eyeliner or brush, the eyes are drawn gently on the floor and a little upwards. Then, powder the whole face and neck to prevent staining.
